The US states east of the Mississippi river just sort of happened by accident, while the ones west of the Mississippi were planned. No, it's true! Just look at a map of the USA. In the East, state boundaries are pretty hap-hazard - they follow mountain ranges, rivers, cow paths, whatever. But in the Mid-West and West, you get a lot of rectangles. Lots of nice, straight lines and right angles. And in some places, those lines and angles all meet up quite nicely. Take the Four Corners, for example. Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico all come together at one point. You can actually stand there and be in four different states at the same time. So...that's a thing to see. But if you decide to go see it, better bring a book along. Cuz it's a long way out there. And there isn't much else to see at the Four Corners Monument. Or around it. Or within 100 miles of it.

The Four Corners Bookmarks. 3" x 3". Bookish saying on one side; our logo on the other. Slip one over the corner of your page, and go about the rest of the day safe in the knowledge that your place is being kept.
